Read moreHouse of the Dragon, Vikings: Valhalla, Wednesday… 2022 is definitely going to be another year of binge-watching! So, who are the actors expected to take this year by storm? Here are 6 of them to watch closely.
Already seen in The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Netflix’s YOU Season 2, Jenna Ortega will be back on our screens in 2022! The 19-year-old actress is indeed set to star in Scream 5 alongside Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Arquette. But there is more, as Jenna Ortega will also take on the lead role of Wednesday Addams in the upcoming Netflix series dedicated to the Addams family teenager! Titled Wednesday, this production will be directed by Tim Burton.
If there is at least one series that we are looking forward to in 2022, it is House of the Dragon! The spin-off prequel of Game of Thrones is set 200 years before the original show events, and will feature the Targaryen family well before Daenerys’ birth. Emma D'Arcy is playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, a dragonrider who expects to become the Seven Kingdoms' first ruling queen.
Another spin-off on the way is Vikings: Valhalla. Starting a century after the original series, it will tell the tales of some of the best-known Norsemen in history. Among them, the legendary Leif Erikson will be played by Sam Corlett, previously seen on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina where he portrayed Caliban. Mark your calendar, Vikings: Valhalla is set to premiere on Netflix on February 25.
While we already love Julia Garner in Ozark, we are really looking forward to her performance in Inventing Anna, Shonda Rhimes’ upcoming series which will be released on Netflix on February 11. Inspired by a true story and based on a 2018 New York magazine article by Jessica Pressler, the show focuses on the story of Anna Delvey, a young Russian woman who convinced the New York elite that she was a German heiress in order to defraud banks, hotels, and wealthy acquaintances.
2022 is clearly going to be a big year for Sebastian Stan, however, it will probably be a bit hard to recognize him in Pam & Tommy! As he portrays Tommy Lee alongside actress Lily James (Pamela Anderson), the actor went through an exceptional transformation. The upcoming biographical drama will depict the iconic couple’s marriage following the release of their infamous unauthorized sex tape, which was recorded privately during their honeymoon.
Set to air on Apple TV+ on January 28, The Afterparty takes place at a high school reunion afterparty which ended in murder. As Detective Danner - portrayed by Tiffany Haddish - has been asked to solve this mystery, each episode will provide a different character's perspective of what happened that night. Tiffany Haddish was previously seen in the Netflix mini-series Self Made and The Last O.G.
