Amazing shows about magic to binge-watch
Magic. It’s everywhere. First of all, magic is about practices, beliefs that bind the ordinary to the extraordinary. It is about spell casts, it is about…
Read moreWhen you start on a sitcom you really just want one thing: to laugh. It's all the better then when a character delivers what you want in every episode. The following selection of six perfectly succeeds in this mission to entertain us.
While his thing with Rachel hasn't won universal approval, many of his scenes are met with unanimous praise. Who didn't roll on the floor laughing when he tried to mount his couch with Chandler and Rachel? When he played bagpipes in front of his friends or when he decided to get an artificial tan? Not to mention of course this evening full of margarita in season 10, definitely a night to remember. The more seasons of Friends go by, the funnier David Schwimmer's character becomes.
Office life is not always easy, especially when one of your coworkers is a bootlicker. But when his name is Dwight Schrute, things are immediately different since his behavior can do us no harm, provoking nothing but laughs. With him taking everything at face value and the ridiculous situations he gets into, it's impossible to keep a straight face. Rainn Wilson embodies him perfectly, and you'd almost want to work with Dwight to have some very fun days.
A mustache and an undeniable charisma, Ron Swanson knows how to get noticed. When he enters a room, it is impossible not to notice him right away; while he may seem frightening at first, he mostly shows some great humor ... even despite himself. He always has punchlines that hit right on the mark and his old-fashioned side is always a source of frank laughter. His serious interest in meat and traditions always lead to hilarious situations, not to mention his big grumpy teddy bear look that makes us fall under his spell.
No police officer in that Brooklyn Nine-Nine police station can have a bad day when Jake Peralta is around. The character played by Andy Samberg is a teen-adult or an adult-teen, we cannot know for sure. What is certain is that he makes us laugh at every appearance, whether for his need for paternal love on the part of Captain Holt or his ability to find sex tape titles in any sentence of his colleagues.
Bazinga! Sheldon Cooper's gimmick is an iconic line for all fans of The Big Bang Theory, and it is thanks to him that the show lasted so long. Leonard's best friend, he quickly became more popular than the latter himself. His social awkwardness has established itself as one of the strengths of his personality and his shamelessness always succeeds in triggering hilarious moments. Even when he managed to evolve into a character with more emotion, he succeeded in retaining his hilarious, brilliant wit.
Seinfeld is one of America's classic sitcoms and owes this spot a lot to the character of Elaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She brings her spark of colorful craziness to the group of guys she is friends with, and her eccentricity is always a source of very funny scenes. She never hesitates to put others in their place with punchlines that hit the mark.
