Shows to Discover in October

07/10/2020

Summer gives way to fall, but TV shows carry their way playing out on our screens. Here are the ones that land in October.

Emily in Paris

This Netflix new release sees the protagonist named Emily (played by Lily Collins) leave Chicago for Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing agency. Emily will then discover Parisian life and will have to get used to this new life, juggling between love setbacks, new encounters and above all the challenge that her new position has in store for her. The episodes have been all available on the platform since Friday, October 2.

The Walking Dead : World Beyond

This is The Walking Dead's 2nd spin-off, after Fear. Here we find ourselves 10 years after the events that changed the world forever. A decade after the arrival of the zombies where the surviving communities must collaborate and live in a new society. We follow young male and female protagonists eager to discover the truth about the group that rules this new world, as they decide to leave the comforts of their community to go on an adventure. The series air on Prime Video one episode per week starting October 5.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

The second season of Netflix's horror anthology series is of course coming this October, since it's Spooky Halloween month. The Haunting of Bly Manor will focus on a young housekeeper who has been recruited to babysit two small children, unaware that the house is haunted by evil spirits. Once again, we will have fun counting the ghosts hiding in the different scenes. See you on October 9 on the platform.

La Flamme

Would you fancy a dating reality series parody? With Jonathan Cohen starring as the bachelor with the heart for sale, even more? So good news, The Flame is made for you! The French comedy will be offered by Canal + from October 12, with a flock of stars who will make you laugh equally as much.

La Révolution

What if the French Revolution hadn't unfolded as the history books tell it? What if the nobles had fallen victim to a strange virus that forced them to prey on the people? What if the latter had simply protected himself against these violent attacks? In this revisited Revolution, aristocrats and rebels clash in a bloody conflict, against a background of politics and secrets. See you October 16 on Netflix.

Call My Agent!

This back-to-school season is decidedly very French, and fans of Call My Agent! will have the pleasure of discovering the long-awaited season 4, which is due to land on channel France 2 on October 21. We will once again follow the ASK agency and its members that we love, with new clients. Starring: Mimie Mathy, Franck Dubosc, Dany Boon, Charlotte Gainsbourg, José Garcia, Sandrine Kiberlain and Sigourney Weaver. That's right.

Also: Le Mensonge on France 2 on October 5, Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 on October 12 (OCS), Grand Army and Someone Has to Die on October 16 on Netflix. Not to mention The Undoing with Nicole Kidman on the 26th (OCS), and The Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney + on the 30th.
