Read moreBefore TV series, our passion was books... What if you took advantage of your free time to combine your two passions and immerse yourself in the books that inspired your favorite programs?
One of the most watched series in the world is part of this list... You guessed it, "Game of Thrones", a series inspired by the book "The Iron Throne" (A Song of Ice and Fire) written by George R.R. Martin. However, unlike the TV series that ended last May, the author still hasn't finished writing the books...
"Dexter", the bloody crime series broadcast until 2013, was also based on Jeff Lindsay's book series.
The Netflix series "House of Cards" is an adaptation of a British series from the 1990s, itself adapted from the book of the same name written by Michael Dobbs and published in 1989.
It's hard to pass by the series "Orange is the New Black", even when you don't watch it! Piper Chapman, heroine of the series, is inspired by the story of Piper Kerman, author of the autobiographical book "Orange is the New Black - My Year in a Women's Prison" and who was herself incarcerated in Danbury camp, located in Connecticut.
Lemony Snicket's dark humour and pessimistic tone in the book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events" paid off as the novels were adapted in series by Netflix in 2017.
And finally, a 100% girly series: Sex and the City! This mythical series was first a book written by Candace Bushnell, then a TV series created by Darren Star, and finally movies! True popular icons, the four protagonists of Sex and the City have rocked the lives of millions of readers and viewers.
So who's reading again?
