Read moreSuperheroes' momentum is going on in 2021, and while WandaVision set the ball rolling in January, many more series are coming. Here are 6 that should make an impression.
After the events of the Avengers: Endgame movie, Wanda and Vision become the protagonists of their own series. They can be found in 2021 in WandaVision, broadcast on Disney+. This show is the one that gets to kick off the 2021 Marvel campaign on the platform, and it comes in a form as out of the box as it is appealing. The characters embodied by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany find themselves in a sitcom of the fifties/sixties and live in a world that hides many secrets...
This is the second Marvel series to land on Disney+ and fans have to be patient until March 19 to finally discover it. We follow Captain America's two best friends on a crazy duo adventure after the events of Endgame. Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes get to face Zemo, who has already appeared in Captain America: Civil War, while Steve Rogers' succession is not going smoothly.
The heroine straight out of Krypton, played by Melissa Benoist since 2015, is due to bow out in 2021. Supergirl is ending after 6 seasons, therefore following Arrow's path, which ended in early 2020. At the moment no release date has been confirmed and we have to wait until spring. But one thing we can be sure of is that Supergirl will not end without an explosive final season.
The end of Batwoman's first season was marked by a major departure: Ruby Rose, who played the main heroine, decided to leave the series without looking back. Season 2 debuted in the United States on Sunday, January 17, and her character, Kate Kane, does not appear at all, getting nowhere near any sense of closure to her plot. The actress is replaced by Javicia Leslie who plays Ryan Wilder and takes over the costume of the heroine. She is the first ever black actress to play Batwoman.
As with its first two seasons, The Boys is once more highly anticipated this year on Prime Video. And fans can expect new episodes to be even crazier and more irreverent than the previous ones. While the release date is yet to be given, the entire cast will be back for even more gory and exhilarating scenes.
Lastly, the third Marvel series to be expected on Disney+: Loki, whose character, much beloved of fans, is still embodied by Tom Hiddleston. The plot is set to take place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame, in which he vanished, took off to an unknown destination. In this series centered on Thor's brother, we will find a fine cast comprised of the likes of Owen Wilson, Richard E. Grant and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Looking forward to May 2021.
