These cult series are to discover on Prime Video

21/08/2020

Because it's not all about Netflix, the Amazon Prime Video platform offers plenty of iconic series to watch and replay. We cooked a small selection for you.

The X-Files
The X-Files

Paranormal investigations with Mulder and Scully are all happening on Prime Video. All 11 seasons of the series are available on the platform, enough to spend plenty of time with Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, and government conspiracies about the existence of alien life. Do you want to believe?

The Shield
The Shield

A detective series like no other, immerse yourself in the dark and violent daily life of the cops in The Shield. You got 7 seasons to follow Vic Mackey and his squad, corrupt to the bone, following their own rules and not giving a damn about authority. Be careful, these are not police investigations where the episodes end with the criminals in handcuffs: the line dividing good and evil simply does not exist here.

Dawson's Creek
Dawson's Creek

Followed by a cohort of teen series in the 2000s, Dawson's Creek has shaped part of the youth of TV fans, with its cast, still iconic today: James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams. While the storylines have become a bit outdated in 2020, the show remains the time capsule of an era and has been of great importance on all matters regarding coming-of-age and adolescent angst.

Desperate Housewives
Desperate Housewives

It is not that good to live in Wisteria Lane... This street is punctuated by murders, disappearances, neighborhood conflicts and catastrophes of all kinds. But it is a real treat to follow the daily lives of Bree, Susan, Lynette de Gabrielle, to the sound of their friend Mary Alice's, who recounts their adventures for 8 seasons.

Justified

The crime series starring Timothy Olyphant is also available on Prime Video, with all its 6 seasons. We follow Marshal Raylan Givens transferred to his hometown of Kentucky after the suspicious death of a criminal he was about to arrest in Miami. He reunites with old friends and foes, including Boyd and the Crowder family who are merciless. Never short of explosive punchlines, Raylan will become your new best friend.

The Office (US)
The Office

If your daily office life is a bit too quiet, you might want to swap it out with the characters from The Office. However, having a boss like Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) does not look very easy... The 9 seasons of the cult comedy show are on the platform: welcome to Dunder Mifflin.

Malcolm in the Middle
Malcolm in the Middle

We don't know their last name, but we do know that Malcolm and his brothers are always up to some dirty tricks. One could pity their parents Hal and Lois, but they are also often engaged in stories that are just as crazy, and hilarious. If you feel like following Dewey anywhere and singing along "poo pee poo pee poo pee poo pee", all 7 seasons of this comedy are on Prime Video.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Hellmouth is not going to close on its own... Luckily Buffy and her Scooby-Gang are here! The Vampire Slayer saves the world, wiping out demons and other night creatures, and even takes time to attend high school and college. 7 seasons in Sunnydale, several imminent apocalypses, a badass girl and a touch of magic, all of which are a few ingredients to be passionate about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy

The Seattle Grace Hospital, now Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, opens its doors to you, and you don't need to be sick or injured to enter. Meredith, Derek, Karev, Cristina and the likes welcome you with open arms to make you experience their dramas, loves, achievements and failures in the front row.

Lost
Lost

The ending is controversial among the fans. There are those who hated, and the others who loved deeply... But before that, there is a real human, temporal, mysterious and dangerous journey for 6 seasons. We follow survivors of a plane crash trying to survive on a hostile desert island, as we gradually unveil their secrets through numerous flashbacks.

Also available: House, Monk, One Tree Hill, Criminal Minds, Heroes, The O.C., even Psych and Supernatural.
