Like many celebrities, the actress Jane Seymour did not settle for her birth name. Born Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg, she eventually changed her name to a much simpler one, as she revealed to Us Weekly. Some rumors say that she might have chosen this alias to show the quintessence of her British roots and as a nod to Jane Seymour, the third wife of King Henry VIII.

Jane Seymour can proudly claim this honor, indeed! She has her own star on the most famous of all boulevards, the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her star was inaugurated in 1999, only a few months after the cancellation of the series that made her famous: Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

As popular as the series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman may be - launched in 1993 - the reasons that pushed Jane Seymour to accept this role are not necessarily the ones we think. It was in the midst of this critical situation that she accepted the iconic role of Michaela Quinn.
