Read moreIt's a natural reflex in dark times to turn to feel good series. While we like fictions that make us learn things, sometimes we just need to immerse ourselves in stories that make us laugh and envelop us in a cocoon of sweetness. Focus on 6 feel good series to watch or rewatch as much as you like.
Just landed on Netflix, Dash & Lily is now the number one series that comes to mind when we think of “feel-good”. And for good reason, as it brings together three essential elements: a love story, Christmas and... New York! Dash is a teenager who doesn't really believe in the magic of Christmas. Lily, on her side, adores the end of the year celebrations and above all, dreams of meeting true love. Under the precious advice of her brother, she decides to embark on a sort of treasure hunt by disseminating clues guided by a book. The rest, we let you discover it on Netflix!
This list of feel-good series could not miss some major classics of the genre. And what could be more heartwarming and funnier than an episode of New Girl? We follow the trials and tribulations of Jess, a saucy schoolteacher, who finds a place in a shared flat with three boys after a relationship breakup. After the days of crying and putting Dirty Dancing on repeat, Jess goes on a whole lot of adventures with Nick, Schmidt and Winston, and even ends up getting attached to them. Just as much as us to this adorable crew!
Another new release to enjoy like a candy: Derby Girl. Chloé Jouannet (Alexandra Lamy's daughter) plays Lola Bouvier, an ex-figure skating star, self-obsessed and ultra cliché, who embarks on a sport unknown to the general public: roller derby. She meets a team as eclectic as they are endearing and get caught up in this cheesy new sport she once knew nothing about. The tone is offbeat, the humor sometimes sour and the atmosphere very 90s. In short, a great discovery by French platform France.tv Slash.
What is more cult and more iconic than Friends? Nothing, that's what. Everybody knows that, with each little case of the blues, a Friends episode puts anyone back on their feet! The misfortunes of Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Ross, Phoebe and Joey enticed audiences in the 90s and continue to do so 25 years later. A hilarious sitcom that has the good old taste of mac and cheese.
Even though the show has bowed out after 11 exhilarating seasons, it's always a pleasure to watch an episode of Modern Family. We suggest it for rainy Sundays or long lockdown evenings. Modern Family is a delightful fresco in the form of a mockumentary about three families as different as they are endearing: the Pritchett, the Delgado and the Dunphys.
Lastly, we end with a classic of rather absurd humor: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. We follow in the footsteps of Kimmy Schmidt, obviously, who rediscovers society after being locked up for 15 years in a bunker by a guru who believes the apocalypse has taken place. Freed, she settles in the teeming New York and experiences tons of adventures in her relearning of life. A funny show that will surely make you have a good time!
