TV shows to watch in July
If summer rimes with holidays and sun, TV shows are still on and stay with fans all summer long. Mortel, season 2 Fans will be able to discover the second…
Read moreSome TV shows give prominence to women and the force that unites them. Whether they are boss ladies, free spirits or passionate women, they all have one thing in common: a beautiful sorority on screen. Focus on these TV series female squads we would totally love to be a part of.
We start this article with an awesome trio. In 5 seasons, The Bold Type depicted the portrait of an audacious generation (like its title says it is) who is far from being faint-hearted. Sutton, Jane and Kat are daring but they also question and doubt, they share and make the role of women on screen evolve. We admire them so much for their benevolence towards each other and their unfailing support, so we wouldn't mind being the fourth friend to come chat with them in the closet at Scarlet, the female magazine they work for.
More classic and legendary than Sex and the City, there is probably not. This cult show from the 90s presents four women in their thirties feeling good about themselves. Carrie, Cynthia, Samantha and Charlotte are as different as they are complementary. This is incidentally what makes their friendship so rich and why we would love to be a part of it. Even if it's only to steal one or two pairs of Jimmy Choo from Carrie.
Betty is one of the last shows produced by HBO. Crystal Moselle and the documentary Skate Kitchen are to thank for this TV series centered around these female skaters riding the streets of New York. These twenty-something girls from Betty are evolving on a pretty masculine territory: skateboarding. Yet, they stand by their choices and go up against anyone who isn't on their side when needed. We admire their strength, their dedication and the unfailable support they have towards each other. Our dream? Skateboarding and riding at their side freely.
Another totally badass girlcrew : the women from GLOW. Alison Brie joins a very bold group of female wrestlers. We're not gonna lie, we would totally join this group made up from really eccentric personalities. We would probably need to find our place in this beautiful patchwork, but it would surely be an amazing ride, wouldn't it?
Joining a duo is never an easy thing to do, most of all when it's such a charismatic one as the one formed by Issa and Molly in Insecure. Yet, these two women evolve around other friends who are always there when they fight. Spending time in Los Angeles, chilling at bloc parties organized by Issa or simply rolling out our yoga mats... Sundays with them are totally acceptable life plans.
