We start with a big name from the French cinema: Catherine Deneuve. If we’re used to seeing the actress on the big screen, she also appeared in an American TV show. It is for Nip/Tuck, a show created by Ryan Murphy, that Catherine Deneuve crossed the frontier between the big and the small screen.
Sami Outalbali didn’t have to go very far to distinguish himself once again in a televised fiction. AfterLes Grands, Sam Outalbali is given a role in Netflix teen show, Sex Education. He plays Rahim, a French student, who arrives at Moordale highschool in season 2.
Not a lot of French actors can say that they played next to Jude Law and John Malkovitch. But Ludivine Sagnier can. The French actress plays opposite both of them in The Young Pope and its second season, The New Pope. She plays Esther, a fervent believer who’s gonna get close to the pope.
Tahar Rahim is amongst these new French actors we can certainly count on representing France internationally. For Netflix, he plays the serial killer Charles Sobhraj AKA “The Serpent”, who struck during the 70s in Asia. Unrecognizable, the actor gave an incredible performance.
A French girl in the Upper East Side? Absolutely! After Hogwarts where she portrayed Fleur Delacour, Clémence Poésy joined the ranks of New York’s golden youth. She played Eva Coupeau for 4 episodes, a young French woman who fell for Chuck Bass.
We almost all saw David Charvet opposite Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff in the popular show Baywatch. The bathing suit and life preserver were required for this young Frenchy who played alongside big shots from Hollywood.
