These old shows that we want to see on streaming platforms

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV+, to name a few, offer a large catalog of tv shows that we can watch and re-watch. However, it can be difficult for these platforms to be exhaustive, so here are 6 shows that we would love to see land one of them.

This sitcom, carried by Ted Danson playing Sam Malone, a bar manager from Boston, is in the Netflix American catalog, but isn’t available in France. However, it’s considered to be one of the most funny and popular comedies on TV, sadly yet to be known in France. It lasted for 11 seasons and more than 270 episodes.

The comedy broadcasted between 2001 and 2010 in the United States is not available on any platform in France, yet the daily working lives of JD, Turk, Cox, Elliot and Carla are hilarious. We follow medical interns who arrive in a hospital where it’s impossible to get bored, in the best moments as much as in the worst. Still popular today, it gave Zach Braff his breakout role.

Moonlighting
Claire de Lune

We all know Bruce Willis from action movies, but we are not that used to him in comedy or romantic roles. Yet, it was the case for in Moonlighting, of which he played the hero for 5 seasons in the 80s. Just to see him in this character, in opposition with what we see today, it is a must-see for new generations of TV fans.

The West Wing
The West Wing

Aaron Sorkin’s tv series is an essential piece of work and is brilliantly written. If politics always played an important part in everybody’s everyday life, it is even more so nowadays. The West Wing stages the daily lives of a Democratic President of the United States and his team, that lives in the west wing of the White House. The show tackles social issues that are still relevant today and that people still march on the streets for.

E. R.
how to sell drugsBefore Grey’s Anatomy, House or The Resident, there was E. R., a popular medical show from the 90s that started George Clooney’s career. If the show has been broadcasted over and over again on TV, none of the 15 seasons are present on streaming platforms in France. This would be the perfect occasion to discover or rediscover it.

Oz
umbrella academy

Prison Break is far from being the only tv show centered around the prison environment. However, in Oz, it’s not about twists, incredibles plans to escape prison or an ever-ending suspense. The show depicts a very dark, violent and realistic world about the daily of inmates in the American prison environment. The 6 seasons of this show, broadcasted on HBO in the US, is not an easy watch.
