Either adapted from a movie or because they later became one, these 6 TV series all existed on the small and the big screen. Focus on these popular shows, that movie fans know as much as TV fans do.

Clueless
Clueless

Before the cult TV show from the 90s, there was the movie. Released in 1995, Clueless tells the story of Cher Horowitz, a highschool student raised in a very wealthy environment who lives for shopping and the search for the perfect boyfriend. Cher came back in 1996 for 3 seasons in a TV show with the same title. Because of schedule conflicts, Alicia Silverstone had to give her role to Rachel Blanchard, who then became this mythical teen from Beverly Hills.

Fans thought the British show was over, but it was without taking into account that the Crawleys have more than trick up their sleeves. After the sixth and final season, there’s a rumor that the aristocratic British family is gonna come back on the big screen. And in fact, four years after the end of the show, fans had the opportunity to see their beloved characters again, this time in a movie.

Sex and the City

Carrie Bradshaw lovers know it, Darren Star’s famous show had two movie sequels. With 6 seasons, HBO’s popular show followed the sexy adventures of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte and they pursued them onto the big screen. Two movies came out following the end of the show and the reception was kinda lukewarm amongst the fans. Let's see if the show’s revival will make it right.

Entourage
Entourage

Led by Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Conolly and Jerry Ferrara, the show Entourage depicts the life of Vince, a young actor who’s trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Him and his friends live a luxurious life against a backdrop of Hollywood struggles. After 8 seasons that ended in 2011, Entourage was propelled to the big screen in 2015. The movie takes place only a few days after the show’s ending.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Did you know that Buffy the vampire slayer was a movie first? Joss Whedon’s TV series, led by Sarah Michelle Gellar, débuted on the big screen with a script written by Whedon. Released in 1992, the movie tells a similar story but with Kristy Swanson playing Buffy. We needed to wait 5 years for the script to be reused and made into a TV show. And the rest, as we say, is history : Buffy the Vampire Slayer went on to become one of the most cult shows from the end of the 90s.
