This Downton Abbey quiz will tell which character from the TV show you are
You are a Downton Abbey fan and you always wanted to know which Crawley family member resembles you the most? Then this quiz was made for you. Answer…
Read moreBuffy the Vampire Slayer is and will remain an iconic series. The show has touched several generations of fans and has offered female characters a central place in its universe, paving the way for many heiresses. These six stories are unforgettable.
This is where it all begins, the arrival of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) in Sunnydale, on the Hellmouth, and her meeting with her friends. The Scooby-Gang is established, a team as complementary as it is totally badass. The tone, the humor, the horror and the action are already there. A perfect introduction to this universe like no other.
This double episode is a real turning point for the series. We discover the true nature of Angel after a night of love spent with Buffy. A single moment of happiness turns him into a bloodthirsty creature, the one he was before he was given a soul. One of the worst moments of the protagonist's life and one of the most intense and thrilling moments of the series for fans.
While Season 4 is often criticized by fans, this episode gained consensus. Sunnydale gets plunged into total silence because of demons called "The Gentlemen", who have come to collect the vital energy of their victims. No one can make a sound anymore, and this leads to situations as funny as they are tense. A real exercise in style that proves once again that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a series like no other.
One of the other important turning points of the series is this episode 16 of season 5: the death of Joyce, the mother of Buffy and Dawn. The protagonist discovers her mother's inert body and open eyes on the couch. A chilling shot whether for Buffy or for the fans who, even today, have nightmares about it. The transition to adulthood came faster than expected for the heroine and her life was never the same again.
Throughout the series, Buffy died twice, at the end of Season 1 and at the end of Season 5. While her first death left a significant mark, the second one left an even bigger one, with all that it implies and all the events that have accumulated in the previous episodes. We see a heroine sacrificing herself to save her sister, her friends and the world. She is the only one who can do it. For her, it is the fulfillment of the mission that was given to her as a Slayer. For us, the fans, it's all tears.
Another special episode for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and one of the most divisive ones among fans. Not everyone is keen on musical episodes, especially in the universe of this shows. However, this one is important to a considerable extent: we understand what Buffy experienced after death and why, from her perspective, it was a mistake to bring her back to life. To top it all, the music is still stuck in our heads, more than 20 years after its broadcast.
