Read moreThe cancellation of a show that we love can happen without any warning after 1,2 or 3 seasons. And it's always very sad for fans all over the world. Here are 6 shows that ended too soon and that we miss.
Joss Whedon's space western only had one season in 2002, after a chaotic broadcast on the American network FOX. The show carried by Nathan Fillion followed the crew of the ship Serenity, led by captain Malcolm Reynolds. They cruise throughout space from planets to planets and adventures to adventure to fight the Alliance. If they did a movie to close the story in 2005, fans remained frustrated by the brutal ending of the show.
Two seasons, 22 episodes and a nice love story between Ned and Chuck. Lee Pace and Anna Friel played the two main leads of Bryan Fuller's show, in a very peculiar and colorful universe. Ned was able to bring back to life anybody just by touching them, but he also could take their lived back by touching them again. His high school sweetheart, Chuck, is killed and he brings her back to life: but they'll have to live their love story by social distancing. Nominated and awarded several times, the show didn't have enough viewers to go on.
Lead by Eliza Dushku and with Zach Galifianakis, the show only lasted two seasons. And the worst part: only 6 episodes of the second season were broadcasted, so the show didn't have any real ending. The show followed Tru Davies, a med student who worked part time in a morgue. While some corpses asked for her help, she relives their last day and tries to save their lives by discovering how they died.
Masters of American comedy, Paul Feig and Judd Apatow created Freaks and Geeks in 1999 with an amazing casting: James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Martin Starr, Busy Philipps and Lizzy Caplan. They're all in high school and divided in two social groups: cool kids, and losers. Only 18 episodes were broadcasted before the show was cancelled. Yet, Paul Feig had already thought about the second season which makes it worse for the fans of the show.
One of the most recent show cancellations that was widely discussed on social media and which made Netflix do a movie to end the story and the 2 seasons of the show. But we have to admit the movie didn't dry fans' tears who never accepted the departure of Nomi, Wolfgang, Will, Kala, Sun and the others.
The iconic science fiction show may have lasted 5 seasons (and 97 episodes), it is definitely on the list of shows that ended too soon. Especially since the cancellation was announced too late to have a proper ending, and the writers had to find a good story for Sam. But it never had any closure to his characters and didn't answer any of the questions everybody had about his future.
